Strategic Airlines applies to commence service to US

Strategic Airlines applied to the International Air Services Commission last week to commence services across the Pacific from Sep-2011, making it potentially the seventh carrier to operate between Australia and the US (Sydney Morning Herald/The Australian, 25-Apr-2011/27-Apr-2011). Strategic, which is said to be preparing to change its name to Air Australia, is reportedly considering Honolulu initially, given its fleet of A330 aircraft do not have the range to operate non-stop to the US mainland.
