The airport noted (09-Oct-2015) the result marks the 31st consecutive month of growth as well as its busiest ever September with 39.7 million passenger throughput in the past 12 months. CEO Stewart Wingate said the airport will exceed the 40 million passenger mark this year, a milestone that the Airports Commission analysis predicted it would achieve in a decade. The airport also attributes the passenger growth to more air traffic movements per hour and larger aircraft being used on average across the airlines.
