Singapore Changi Airport pax up 9%, cargo down 12% in Feb-2013

Singapore Changi Airport passenger numbers up 9% - traffic highlights for Feb-2013:

• Passenger numbers: 4.1 million, +9.2% year-on-year;
• Cargo volume: 126,536 tonnes, -12.1%;

The airport reported (25-Mar-2013) travel demand was boosted by the Lunar New Year holidays which this year fell in February compared to January last year. Among Changi Airport's top 10 country markets, traffic between Singapore and Australia, China, Hong Kong and Japan each grew by more than 10%. As at 01-Mar-2013, more than 100 airlines operate at Changi Airport, connecting Singapore to 240 cities in some 60 countries and territories worldwide.
