Senator seeking to add airline fee disclosure to Senate Aviation Bill

Senator Robert Menendez, a New Jersey Democrat, stated he is attempting to add the requirement that airlines and travel agents would be required to disclose all fees for checked bags, food and seating assignments prior to the purchase of tickets by US passengers, under a provision that may be added to the FAA Reauthorization bill, which is currently before the Senate (Bloomberg, 16-Mar-2010). The legislation, which may be approved as early as this week, would need to be reconciled with a three-year, USD53.5 billion FAA plan that the House passed in May-2009. [more - Perspective]
