San Diego Airport commences USD1bn expansion project

US' San Diego International Airport commenced a USD1 billion expansion which includes the construction of 10 new gates, 12 security lanes, an expanded concession area and a dual-level roadway in Terminal 2 (Construction Digital, 25-Jan-2011). The terminal, dubbed "The Green Building", will open to the public in 2013.
