Ryanair to open Copenhagen base in Mar-2015

Ryanair announced (29-Oct-2014) plans to open its second base in Denmark at Copenhagen Kastrup Airport in Mar-2015, with four based Boeing 737-800 aircraft and three new routes from 26-Mar-2015 - see Route Changes Table for more information:

The carrier plans to announce an additional ten new routes from Copenhagen in 2015, and expects to carry one million passengers annually at the airport. Ryanair CCO David O'Brien said: "Ryanair is pleased to announce our new base in Copenhagen from March 2015, starting with 3 new exciting low fare routes to London, Milan and Warsaw, with 10 more routes to be announced early next year, which will deliver over 1m customers annually and support 1000 'on-site' jobs, as Ryanair invests $400m in Copenhagen. Ryanair will base its 1st Boeing 737-800 at Copenhagen from March 2015 and 3 more later in the year." Copenhagen Kastrup Airport director of airline sales & route development Ole Wieth Christensen added: "We have a strategy of generating growth at Copenhagen Airport - growth that will give people in Denmark far more travel options - and growth that creates more jobs and more investment in Denmark. We are excited that Ryanair has decided to be a part of this growth by initially opening three routes, and we look forward to working with them."
