Ryanair to axe 25% of winter routes from Edinburgh

Ryanair will reduce capacity by 25% at Edinburgh as part of its winter 2012 schedule, when the LCC will reduce capacity amid expected weak pricing and high fuel price environments (The Scotsman, 03-Jun-2011). Ryanair will reduce destinations served to 23 from 32 and reduce weekly services to 80 from 100. Dropped destinations include Berlin Schonefeld, Malta, Marrakesh, Tallinn and Turin. A similar reduction is expected to be announced next Tuesday for Glasgow Prestwick, the airlines has reportedly stated.
