Ryanair says key in distribution is to secure booking from a passenger

Ryanair CCO David O'Brien, speaking at the CAPA World Aviation Summit 2015, said (08-Oct-2015) the key in distribution now is to secure the booking from a passenger. Beyond that, the airline can continue the 'conversation' with the passenger through the entirety of their trip, offering more sales opportunities.
