Rolls-Royce and UTC abandon planned collaboration for mid-size aircraft engines

Rolls-Royce and United Technologies Corp (UTC) announced (19-Sep-2013) the parties have agreed not to proceed with a proposed engine partnership. In Oct-2011, Rolls-Royce and UTC announced their intention to form a new JV to develop an engine to power future mid-size aircraft, of 120-230 seats. Following further discussion, and because of the current regulatory environment, the parties have abandoned the plans.
