Qatar and Canada to sign aviation agreement this week

Qatar Civil Aviation Authority Chairman Abdul Aziz Mohammed Al Nuaimi stated Qatar and Canada would sign an aviation agreement over meetings scheduled for 25-26-Oct-2010 with the agreement expected to ensure rights to Qatar Airways to operate to Canadian destinations (The Peninsula/Qatar News Agency/Arabian Business, 25-Oct-2010). Mr Al Nuami added that the Canadian destinations would be "among the most important cities that Qatar Airways intends to fly to as part of its network expansion". Earlier this month, talks between the UAE and Canada to increase services between the nations ended without agreement causing a considerable amount of tension between the nations.
