Qatar Airways to launch Baghdad, Erbil and Najaf services

Qatar Airways CEO, Akbar Al Baker, stated the carrier has permission to launch operations to Baghdad, Erbil and Najaf (ekurd, 10-May-2010). Mr Al Baker announced last week the carrier has permission to launch to three undisclosed destinations. Qatar Airways is awaiting the delivery of additional aircraft before launching Iraq, in order to "enter in a strong way".

Qatar Airways: "We are waiting for the arrival of more planes to our fleet before starting service to Iraq aggressively. We plan to enter in a strong way, not by going by with one or two frequencies a week," Akbar Al Baker, CEO. Source: ekurd, 10-May-2010.
