Qantas says USD26.2m contribution made to Jetstar Hong Kong and 'we are not going above that'

Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce, speaking at the carrier's AGM, said (24-Oct-2014) the group's commitment to Jetstar Hong Kong has been AUD30 million (USD26.2 million) and that "we are not going above that... that money hasn't been used, the business is still functioning on that and their equivalent contributions [from Shun Tak Holdings and China Eastern Airlines]." Mr Joyce said there are three A320s stored in preparation for the carrier's launch and conceded "the process has taken longer than anybody expected." Mr Joyce noted a hearing is schedule for early 2015.
