Qantas CEO: The success of Jetstar is based on lessons learned from the failure of past LCCs

Qantas CEO Alan Joyce, speaking at the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit, stated (08-Aug-2013) the success behind Jetstar Airways stemmed from extensive research and "we learned from the mistakes of others". Mr Joyce noted the two key failures of other LCCs include over-dependance on shareholders and not truly operating "at a low-cost base".
