PT Angkasa Pura I plans to expand Surabaya Airport

Indonesia's PT Angkasa Pura I (API) GM Trikora Harjo revealed (29-Aug-2014) the state-owned enterprise plans to construct a new terminal at Surabaya Airport. Mr Harjo advised the new passenger terminal will be a 300,000sqm complex and will be developed in two phases. Further, API plans to extend the airport's runway from 3000m to 3600m. Mr Harjo stated the expansion programme will facilitate air traffic growth in the region. According to API, Surabaya Airport will handle approximately 400,000 aircraft movements and 74 million passengers p/a by 2030. API is currently undertaking a feasibility study on the project and plans to release a project master plan soon. [more - original PR - Indonesian]
