oneworld carriers address anti-trust concerns

American Airlines, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia and Royal Jordanian (all members of the oneworld alliance) submitted new documentation to the US Department of Transportation, to "proactively address" concerns raised by the US Department of Justice regarding their antitrust immunity application (Dallas News, 11-Sep-2009). The filing states that current antitrust immunity enjoyed by some member carriers in the Star Alliance and SkyTeam puts oneworld at a severe regulatory disadvantage, meaning it cannot compete effectively with the other alliances.
