Norwegian orders two 787-9 aircraft
Norwegian announced (18-Dec-2013) an agreement to acquire two Boeing 787-9 aircraft, with both to be delivered in 1Q2016. The carrier will lease both aircraft from MG Aviation, a subsidiary of Jordache Enterprises, increasing the size of its 787 fleet to 10. Norwegian CEO Bjørn Kjos said: "In order to run a competitive long-haul operation, we are dependent on brand new cost-efficient aircraft. I´m very satisfied to have secured our first two 787-9 Dreamliners. This is a fantastic airplane with high passenger comfort, long range and low fuel burn." Jordache Enterprises chairman Joe Nakash added: "We are proud to have Norwegian as our lessee of two aircraft in our growing portfolio.
