Nigeria's TRACON project completed

Nigeiran House of Representatives Committee on Aviation confirmed the Total Radar Coverage of Nigeria (TRACON) was successfully completed on 10-Nov-2010 (All Africa, 11-Nov-2010). Former Regional General Manager of Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Sam Akerele, stated: "TRACON project is good for Nigeria for air traffic control and national security but it was poorly executed and technically deficient causing target and label losses daily as reported by air traffic controllers, the situation is dangerous to flight. NAMA needs to train more engineers to provide 24 hours service nationwide also."
