New international airport to be constructed in Timna

Israel Transportation Minister, Yisrael Katz, authorised funds for the development of a new international airport in Timna, to replace Eilat J Hozman Airport (Israel National News, 06-May-2010). The project is estimated to cost EUR353.7 million with the Israel Government to provide initial funding of EUR11.6 million. The airport is expected to take two years to complete and will include a 3,600m runway.
