New Delhi Airport railway delayed; Reliance subsidiary fined USD2.5m

India's Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has reportedly fined Delhi Airport Metro Express Pvt Ltd (DAMEPL), a subsidiary of Reliance Infrastructure, USD2.5 million for its failure to obtain the mandatory safety clearances from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) and meet the deadline to commence operations on the line from 31-Aug-2010 (TNN, 01-Oct-2010).
