Michael Cawley not optimistic about airline retailing

Ryanair former deputy CEO and COO Michael Cawley, speaking at CAPA's Airlines in Transition conference in Dublin, stated (11-Apr-2014) he is pessimistic about the capability of airlines to retail. He noted Ryanair does not have the resources, for example, to invest in hotel bookings the way booking.com does. Ryanair and booking.com have a partnership. "They are much stronger than we are and I'm not going to pick a fight," Mr Cawley said.
