Mango to receive two 737-800s in 2014, planning regional expansion

Mango announced (21-Oct-2014) plans to take delivery of two Boeing 737-800 aircraft in late Oct-2014 and Nov-2014. Following the deliveries, the airline will operate 10 aircraft between eight airports, representing capacity growth of 150% and network growth of 100% since its launch eight years ago. The carrier is likely to commence new routes in the next six to eight months and is reviewing several regional destinations, including on the East African coast. Mango CEO Nico Bezuidenhout said, "The domestic market is near saturation in terms of carriers while few routes remain available that we do not operate already. Domestically we are reviewing options too, but at present it makes competitive sense to bulk up on our existing schedule." [more - original PR]
