Malaysia Airlines has 'no plans to rescind' A380 order

Malaysia's Deputy Transport Minister, Abdul Rahim Bakri, stated Malaysia Airlines has "no plans to rescind the order" for six A380s "at this juncture" despite the prolonged delivery date (Reuters/Bernama/AFP, 29-Jun-2010). The Minister added that Airbus would compensate the carrier MYR329 million (USD102 million) for the delay. The carrier will now take delivery of the aircraft in Apr-2012. It was initially scheduled to receive its first A380 in Jan-2007, with this subsequently pushed back to late 2011 before the latest delay to 2012.
