Madrid Airport traffic down 11.5% in Sep-2013; biggest pax increases by Air Europa and Air Nostrum

Spain's Madrid Barajas Airport recorded (08-Oct-2013) an 11.5% year-on-year decline in passenger traffic in Sep-2013, to 3.6 million passengers, up slightly from an 11.7% year-on-year fall in Aug-2013. Air Europa recorded the largest increases in passengers in Sep-2013 (+23% yearon-year), followed by Air Nostrum (+8.7%) and Iberia Express (+3.7%). Barajas experienced strong growth on Asian routes during the month with passengers up 10% year-on-year, lead by Thai Airways (+29%), Air China (+18%) and Uzbekistan Airways (+11%).
