Lufthansa to resume services to Iraq in Apr-2010

Lufthansa announced (24-Mar-2010) plans to resume services to Iraq, after a 20-year interval, with Frankfurt-Erbil services - see Route Changes Table for more information. The resumption of services to Iraq is part of the carrier's efforts to expand its route network in the Middle East, to which it will offer 100 weekly services to 15 destinations in 12 countries. The carrier added that it still intends to resume services over Summer 2010 to Baghdad, with the carrier "currently making the necessary preparations to do so". Austrian Airlines, meanwhile, will maintain its Vienna-Erbil service, which was launched in 2006. [more]
