Lufthansa nominates Kay Kratky as CEO of Austrian Airlines

Deutsche Lufthansa AG announced (05-May-2015) its nomination of Kay Kratky as CEO of Austrian Airlines, with the latter's supervisory board to vote on the appointment on 12-May-2015. Mr Kratky will begin the role on 01-Aug-2015, and presently serves as COO of Lufthansa. As previously reported by CAPA, Austrian Airlines' current CEO Jaan Albrecht will assume the role of CEO of SunExpress. Deutsche Lufthansa AG CEO Carsten Spohr said: "After a difficult period Austrian Airlines is well on track to further expand its position and become competitive. Now the focus is on a resolute modernisation of its fleet and strengthening of Vienna as an air travel hub.
