Austrian Airlines CEO Jaan Albrecht appointed CEO of SunExpress

Lufthansa Group announced (31-Mar-2015) the appointment of Jaan Albrecht as CEO of SunExpress effective 01-Jun-2015, with Mr Albrecht to continue in his current role as CEO of Austrian Airlines until that date. SunExpress current CEO Paul Schwaiger will remain at the company until "mid-July" in order to ensure a smooth transition. Austrian Airlines chairman Harry Hohmeister said: "The decision to ask Jaan Albrecht to assume a new position within the Lufthansa Group was not easy for us. After all, he led Austrian Airlines out of a crisis and achieved a turnaround. However, his good international contacts and his experience in different positions in the airline sector make him an ideal CEO of SunExpress."
