Lion Air needs to add 15-19 aircraft p/a just to maintain domestic market share

Lion Air PR Leithen Francis, speaking at the CAPA - Airline Fleet & Finance Summit 2014, stated (26-Mar-2014) because of the size of Indonesia's "huge" domestic market, the carrier has been able to remain a mostly domestic airline and be so large. He also said that Wings Air is very important as Lion Air and Wings Air serve a combined 77 destinations in Indonesia, which are twice as many destinations as its nearest competitor. Meanwhile, Mr Francis also said Lion Air mainline needs to add 15 to 19 aircraft p/a just to maintain domestic market share as domestic market is growing at 15% to 20%.
