LCC international pax at Spanish airports increase 16%, FSC international pax up 2% in Mar-2015

Spain's Institute of Tourism Studies reported (Apr-2015) 4.8 million international passengers travelled through Spanish airports in Mar-2015, of which 54.6% of passengers travelled with full service carriers and 45.4% travelled with LCCs. Details are as follows:

• Total international passengers: 4.8 million, +8.0% year-on-year;
• • FSCs: 2.6 million, +2.4%;
  • LCCs: 2.2 million, +15.5%;

      • Italy: 276,249, +20.8%;
      • Germany: 267,998, +25.1%;
      • France: 182,210, +19.1%;
      • Netherlands: 139,305, +6.4%;
    • Top destinations by airport:
    • • Barcelona: 626,416, +17.4%;
      • Madrid Barajas: 339,446, +37.7%;
      • Málaga: 259,587, +7.0%;
      • Alicante: 229,279, +6.4%;
      • Tenerife Sur: 159,479, +4.5%.
