LAN Airlines passenger numbers up 51.5% in Mar-2011

LAN Airlines announced (08-Apr-2011) the following traffic highlights in Mar-2011:

• Passenger numbers: 1.8 million, +51.5% year-on-year;
  • Domestic: 1.2 million, +57.2%;
  • International: 588,000, +41.2%;
• Passenger load factor: 77.7%, +4.7 ppts;
  • Domestic: 73.9%, +2.1 ppts;
  • International: 79.5%, +6.0 ppts;
• Cargo load factor: 70%, -1.3 ppts. [more]

Lan Airlines: "During March, system passenger traffic increased 36.5% as capacity rose 28.2%. As a result, the company's load factor for the month increased 4.7 points to 77.7%. International passenger traffic accounted for approximately 69% of total passenger traffic. The growth rates in Mar-2011 figures consider the impact of the earthquake that affected Chile on 27-Feb-2010.
