Jetstar Hong Kong receives antitrust approval from China

China Eastern Airlines announced its proposed Jetstar Hong Kong JV with Qantas Airways received antitrust approval from China's Ministry of Commerce with the start up carrier scheduled to commence operations later this year, according to reports from Carnoc.com, National Business Daily and Yicai. China Eastern chairman Liu Shaoyong welcomed the approval adding he hopes to receive approval from Hong Kong SAR Government as soon as possible. Jetstar Hong Kong has completed registration in Hong Kong and all preparatory work are progressing smoothly.
