Japan nuclear crisis; MENA unrest hits Air France financials

Air France-KLM stated (27-Jul-2011) the carrier's EUR145 million operating loss in the three months to 30-Jun-2011 was influenced by a EUR100 million loss resulting from the political events in Africa and the Middle East and the nuclear crisis in Japan, in addition to the 16% rise in fuel costs (marking an addition of EUR232 million) in the quarter. The result compared with an operating loss of EUR132 million in the previous corresponding period.
