Japan Airlines to operate 787 aircraft to Delhi from May-2012

Japan Airlines (JAL) plans to operate Boeing 787 aircraft to Delhi from 01-May-2012, becoming the first airline to deploy the 787 to India, as reported by local media sources including The Hindu Business Line, domain-b and Business Standard. ''With the launch of the Dreamliner India will become the 2nd country in JAL's operations to get this special high end craft," Japan Airlines country manager for India Yasushi Isomura said. 787 equipment will be deployed on four of the five weekly Tokyo Narita-Delhi services. The airline hopes to operate a daily service with 787 equipment on the sector from to Delhi with 787 from winter 2012. The deployment of 186-seat 787, replacing 215-seat 777s, will reduce available capacity by 25%. [more - CAPA Analysis]
