Istanbul could become regional MRO hub: Boeing

Boeing's senior vice president of commercial aviation services Lou Mancini stated Turkish Technic, the MRO subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, could transform Istanbul into a regional hub in MRO services (Today's Zaman, 08-May-2011). "Turkish Technic, together with THY, has very ambitious growth points. It also has an ideal geographical location in the world. I see no obstacle to Istanbul becoming a regional distribution centre for aircraft parts and inventories," Mr Mancini said. The MRO provider has grown in step with its parent's strong growth in recent years and plans to open another maintenance centre at Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport in 2011.
