International Consolidated Airlines interested in mergering TAP Portugal with BA and Iberia

IAG CEO Willie Walsh reportedly stated the company is interested in merging TAP Portugal with British Airways and Iberia (The Times/Bloomberg, 30-Jul-2011). IAG is interested in TAP "because it has a very strong network into Brazil. They are the No 1 player between Europe and Brazil," Mr Walsh reportedly stated. Several airlines are expected to enter the bidding process, including Lufthansa, Air France and LAN.
