Industrial action will cause serious damage to Air Malta’s recovery

Air Malta stated (05-Jul-2011) "any industrial action taken by ALPA will cause serious damage to the Restructuring Plan and Air Malta's recovery". The carrier added that "Air Malta's new management team must be given the time and space to manage the difficult situation and be allowed time to manage the multifaceted problems it is facing. Industrial unrest at this time is irresponsible and can permanently damage the airline." Air Malta has appealed to ALPA and all other unions for "common sense to prevail and allow management the time and space to restructure the airline for the benefit of employees and the country at large, especially the tourist industry". The carrier added that it is "doing its utmost to avert any industrial action and offer a seamless service in the event of any disruptions". [more]
