Indian PM considers foreign airline investment in local carriers

India's Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, is considering permitting foreign airlines to invest in local carriers to attract funds and raise operating standards (Financial Express/Reuters, 23-Jun-2010). Under the proposal, the Indian Government would allow at least 26% foreign direct investment (FDI) in local airlines.
