IATA and National Business Travel Association propose new security system

IATA and the National Business Travel Association (NBTA) have reportedly proposed a new system to the US Transportation Security Administration with faster checkpoints for frequent flyers at airports across the US (Xinhua, 03-Jan-2011). Under the proposal, frequent travellers who submit background information prior to arriving at the airport can bypass body scanners and pat-down searches, and undergo a quicker, less-invasive security procedure.
