IAG announces new loyalty scheme

International Airlines Group (IAG), the parent company of British Airways and Iberia, will launch a new global loyalty programme on 16-Nov-2011, replacing BA's Airmiles and Executive Club and Iberia's Plus loyalty schemes, according to Air and Business Travel News on 02-Sep-2011. The new programme will be known as Avios. MD of Mileage Company, which manages Airmiles and Plus, Andrew Swaffield, said the intention of the new programme was to "create a new shared global reward currency to provide benefits for all three members."
