Hong Kong Airlines says back-of-the-clock flying in China is as in demand as peak period flights

Hong Kong Airlines assistant director commercial Michael Burke, speaking at the CAPA Asia Aviation Summit, said (24-Nov-2015) the carrier finds back-of-the-clock flying in China to be just as in demand as peak period flights. Mr Burke explained: "We had a flight last year that departed Beijing at 02:00 and arrived Hong Kong at 05:30 and this flight was wildly popular, its incredible." Mr Burke continued: "When you have volumes as you do coming out of the China market, it can soak up almost any amount of capacity that you put in... Now, are the yields at the levels you need them to be for that? Probably not, but you build that over time."
