Greece's ATC strike to cause disruptions

Greece's air traffic controllers' 24-hour strike is expected to cause the disruption of 12 departures and 14 arrivals of Cyprus Airways, Olympic Air and Aegean Airlines services on 15-Dec-2010. All domestic and international services were cancelled and only military, medical or government aircraft are allowed to take-off or land at Athens Airport (financialmirror/ttglive/Arabian Business, 14-Dec-2010). Some 4500 passengers are expected to be affected. British Airways has also cancelled all services to Athens. Unions from the public and private sector across Greece are staging the strike in response to government austerity measures. [more - LOT]
