Fraport traffic up 7.7% in Sep-2011

Fraport reports passenger traffic up 7.7% - traffic highlights in Sep-2011:

• Passenger numbers: 10,101,972, +7.7%;
  • Frankfurt: 5,303,672, +4.2%;
  • Antalya: 3,323,333, +11.4%;
  • Burgas: 323,864, +18.0%;
  • Lima: 968,785, +12.5%;
  • Varna: 182,318, +3.4%;
• Cargo volume: 209,806 tonnes, -3.8%;
  • Frankfurt: 180,483, -4.6%;
  • Antalya: n/a;
  • Burgas: 202, -66.1%;
  • Lima: 29,114, +2.7%;
  • Varna: 7, -29.3%;
• Aircraft movements: 77,969, +4.9%;
  • Frankfurt: 42,496, +2.9%;
  • Antalya: 20,140, +9.0%;
  • Burgas: 2657, +20.0%;
  • Lima: 10,997, +6.5%;
  • Varna: 1679, -0.3%.

It was a new September record for Frankfurt in Sep-2011. Fraport executive board chairman Dr Stefan Schulte stated passenger figures "remain on course and we expect to reach our forecast of four to seven percent growth at FRAfor 2011". Fraport also noted that after the record 2010 year, airfreight tonnage "continued to normalise at a high level".

"Taking into account the sagging September figures, we expect Frankfurt Airport's airfreight tonnage for the entire year 2011 to drop slightly," Dr Schulte said.
