flybe revenue up 4.4% in FY2011

flybe revenue up 4.4% - financial highlights for the 12 months ended Mar-2011:

  • Revenue: GBP595.5 million, +4.4% year-on-year;
    • Ticket revenue: GBP446.8 million, +2.8%;
    • Ancillary revenue: GBP98.9 million, +15%;
    • Maintenance and other revenue: GBP49.8 million, stable;
  • Operating costs: GBP596.4 million, +9.9%;
    • Fuel: +6.8%;
    • Staff costs: -1.3%;
  • Operating profit/loss: (GBP0.9 million), compared with a profit of GBP27.6 million in p-c-p;
  • Profit/loss before tax: (GBP4.3 million), compared with a profit of GBP24.6 million in p-c-p;
  • Profit after tax: GBP3.8 million, -82.9%;
  • Operating cash flow: GBP18.1 million, +21.5%;
  • Passenger numbers: 7.2 million, -0.2%;
  • Seats flown: 11.6 million, +2.8%;

flybe: "We expect single-digit percentage growth in 2011/12 in passenger numbers and revenues in our core UK domestic and UK to Europe businesses. Current trading is encouraging, with forward ticket sales revenue up 8.4% year-on-year on broadly flat capacity.
