Flight delays cost US domestic passengers USD17bn

US Federal Aviation Administration stated a report it commissioned revealed that domestic flight delays have cost passengers nearly USD16.7 billion p/a with the total cost to the US economy of USD32.9 billion (Washington Post, 18-Oct-2010). More than half of the cost to passengers comes from purchasing food or hotel rooms.
