FAA could extend B787 testing

US Federal Aviation Administration could reportedly require Boeing to extend the testing phase of the B787 to ensure conformation with long-range flight requirements (Seattle Times/New Mexico Business Weekly, 19-Jan-2011). The FAA has yet to agree on the steps Boeing must take during the flight-test programme to certify the aircraft to operate trans-ocean and trans-polar routes. This week, Boeing announced plans to deliver the first B787 to All Nippon Airways in 3Q2011.
