Emirates to develop new engine MRO facility

Emirates announced plans to open an USD120 million engine MRO facility in Dubai, complementing its engine test cell (AINonline, 13-Jul-2011). Construction is to commence in 1Q2012 and is expected to be completed in 4Q2014. The MRO facility will have capacity to handle up to 300 GE90 and GP7000 engine repairs p/a, covering the engines for the airline's B777 and A380 fleets.
