Emirates increases fares across network on fuel rise

Emirates increased fares across all sectors on 01-Mar-2011 due to rising oil prices (Reuters/Khaleej Times/Arabian Business/Emirates 24/7, 01-Mar-2011). Emirates stated the increase in fares differs by market and route, declining to give any more detail on how much the fares were increased by. "Like every commercially oriented business, Emirates regularly reviews its fares to reflect market dynamics including demand and rising fuel price. We have an active fuel risk management programme but with such market volatility it is impossible to fully absorb the impact of soaring oil prices," the carrier stated.
