Emirates has no interest in global alliances, IPO up to Government

Emirates Chairman and CEO, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed al Maktoum, stated the carrier is "doing well" without alliance affiliation and confirmed the carrier will launch an initial public offering when the Dubai Government decides (Gulf News, 13-May-2010).

Emirates: "We are doing well without any airline alliances. So, I do not see any reason to join any alliances … We are ready [for an initial public offering].
