Dublin Airport Authority: Transfer traffic up 37% in 2014

Dublin Airport Authority CEO Kevin Toland, speaking at CAPA's Airlines in Transition Conference on 25/26-Mar-2015, stated (25-Mar-2015) Dublin International Airport is a growing hub, having a strong start to 2015 with passenger traffic over the first two months up 15%. 2014 US-Europe transfer traffic rose 37% year-on-year, facilitated by the US preclearance customs facility. The pre-clearance facility gives the airport a "massive competitive advantage". Five new carriers are adding new services to Dublin in 2015, including Ethiopian Airlines, the airport's first connection to sub-Saharan Africa.
