Dubai Airport reports 12% rise in Oct-2009 pax numbers

Dubai International Airport reports (16-Nov-2009) the following traffic highlights in Oct-2009:

• Passenger numbers: 3.5 million, +11.7% year-on-year;
• Cargo volume: 185,867 tonnes, +17.7%.

Dubai Airports: "We are definitely on track to surpass the 40 million passenger mark this year spurred by the growth of Emirates Airline, the onset of the tourist season and major international events such as the Dubai Airshow 2009, which alone is expected to attract more than 50,000 visitors," Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, Source: Company statement, 16-Nov-2009.
