Deutsche Post DHL operating profit up 7% in 3Q2013, confirms 2015 EBIT guidance

Deutsche Post DHL financial highlights for three months ended 30-Sep-2013:

  • Revenue: EUR13,498 million, -2.5% year-on-year;
    • Mail: EUR3439 million, +5.0%;
    • Express: EUR3112 million, -1.9%;
    • Global forwarding freight: EUR3712 million, -7.6%;
    • Supply chain: EUR3532 million, -3.8%;
  • Operating profit: EUR646 million, +7.0%;
    • Mail: EUR261 million, +6.1%;
    • DHL: EUR489 million, +5.6%;
      • Express: EUR263 million, +13.9%;
      • Global forwarding freight: EUR127 million, +4.1%;
      • Supply chain: EUR100 million, -9.1%;
  • Net profit: EUR399 million, +5.8%;
  • FY2013 forecast:
    • EBIT: EUR2750 million to EUR3000 million;
      • Mail: EUR1150 million to EUR1250 million;
      • DHL: EUR2000 million to EUR2150 million;

Deutsche Post DHL: "The company confirms its earnings targets for 2015: DHL is expected to generate an annual average earnings gain of between 13 percent and 15 percent during the period between 2010 and 2015. EBIT at the MAIL division should stabilize at a level of at least EUR 1 billion. In combination with the planned reduction of expenditures for Corporate Center/Other, the Group's EBIT is expected to rise to between EUR 3.35 billion and EUR 3.55 billion by 2015."
